COMMISSIONED ARTWORK

Meeting and empowering on shared country for the present and the future of our communities.

CAROLYN WILLIAMS

Coolamons provides Story Sharing; This is how we connect to community where we SEE, THINK, DO and Empower our people. Coolamons are a safe space, known as ‘Cultural Safety’, ON COUNTRY. We respect, share cultural knowledge and continue learning cultural values, beliefs and practices. If you look carefully you will notice ‘Yarning Circles’, they are our way of how we practice Culture and demonstrate inclusiveness as we are present in our communities.

I have represented our Elders, our traditional owners, they are our identity, who we are, where we come from. Our Elders come with much knowledge and culture. They provide us with permission to speak. I have included travelling symbols; this represents the Callida business travelling on Country delivering their programs.

Looking closely, you will notice two earthy coloured symbols, these represent Callida staff of Katrina and her colleague, two strong women being leaders. And we cannot forget our ‘next generations’ the importance of our young leaders continuing strength and knowledge to share with all in the presence of our Elders and Community.
